In September 2007, Starbeck were proud to have supplied 100 gourd spoons to George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate & Gardens. (USA's most visited historical country estate.) The spoons were used by invited guests in the opening ceremony of a reconstructed slave cabin. Guests sprinkled dirt on a newly planted apple tree in front of the cabin
